Hello new user here.
Just purchased my first eventide product a H9 limited edition 24k gold pedal. Just asking if any users have the same product on here! If so, I Would like to know what was the finish like on the gold plating? Mine arrived in original packaging unopened with hairline scratches a bit of the Gold plating had is missing on the back corner and there is a pitting about a inch long by the right front switch which has been goldplated over. Not trying to put a downer on eventide but do have a opportunity to get another brand new, I just do not want to send that one back as well if this is considered Normal for pedal that cost me nearly twice the price of a max just down to this finish! Any advice or help would be appreciated. Peter

That doesn’t sound normal. I know that they rejected some of the H9s that were gold plating due to imperfections. It sounds like that one was just overlooked during the QA process. I have a gold H9 sitting here on my desk. I’ve had it for a couple of months so it’s not fresh out of the box. When I look closely at it, it has some hair line scratches in a few small spots, but no spots with missing plating or pitting. With regards to scratches, gold is a soft metal and I suppose that’s going to happen eventually. It drives my wife crazy how scratched her wedding ring has gotten, but it doesn’t really bother me.

Whilst i understand that gold is not really practacle to be used as a finish (especially 24k) It does state in the viseo this is laser gold which is a expensive process but makes it very hard wearing. Looks like mine will be going back. Look after my gear and very anal when it comes to marks especially when they can be caused by just normal usage. Maybe next time they should try platinum

We are very sorry that you are not pleased with your H9. Assuming that you purchased it recently, please return it to your dealer for a refund. These units are in great demand, and we are confident that we will find a new home for it very soon.

Apologies if my reply seemed a little snotty – I would have deleted it if I could.
