flash update problem

  hello,i currently have os 3.5b4,i tried updating to 3.51 via cf card but the screen freezes with the romprog.exe writing.
  
  the bootloader is 1.23 so i am wondering what kind of fix i need in this case.

  It sounds like your card is wrongly formatted – see previous comments on this Forum for more information.

  what type of card are you using? what capacity? how is it formatted?
  
  have you ever used that card for OS updates before? does the card work fine at storing presets?

  i'd never thought i had "fat" problems since i'm skinny….just kidding!
  
  you are right! 5 years of macs and never worried about formatting that's the naked truth…
  
  turned on my old athlon and voila!
