Presets
Description
Arp delay. Octave down, 4th down, and 5th up.
Description
Special effect looping. Quartertone steps increase in number and pitch over time.
Flex switch press brings the pitch of each step up to a semitone increment.
The loop eventually blurs, deconstructs, and decays with the barberpole-style rising pitch.

If I had to gig (rock, blues, pop, country, jazz, etc.) with one H9, an expression pedal and a hotswitch, I'd use a few presets from a set of ten presets I've made for this minimalist purpose. All are posted and begin with a number and the letters BST (for boost). So presets 1BST..., 2BST..., 3BST... to 10BST... provides at least reverb and/or delay and a boost to comp and solo without changing presets. They may also provide selectable overdrive and/or distortion, or chorus. I'd use one preset for the full length of a song and use an exp pedal and/or hotswitch to do things like add distortion and/or a boost for a solo. Since I'm not changing presets there is no glitch or dead air during any of these changes. Adjust to taste. I have also posted a BONUS 11th preset called 122RV HSBOOST for a Leslie that works the same way. 9/2/2022

The H9 has various compressors and my favorites are in EQCompressor (duh!), Ducked Delay, and DynaVerb. Yes, if you shut of the delay and reverb in the latter two algorithms you have feature-rich compressors just waiting to squish something. This, of course, was totally intended by Eventide. I'm posting a compressor preset for each of these algorithms to raise awareness and to give one generic example of how one accesses these compressors. Please read the "info" tab in the top right corner of the control app for more detail information on operation. 9/7/2022
Description
This is a Leslie preset with reverb and expression control over slow/faster rotor speed. The hotswitch adds a volume boost for a solo. Thus, this preset and one H9 are all you need to comp and solo with a classic Leslie sound. If possible, use stereo headphones/amplification for the full effect.

I once traveled to far off lands to find the best Binson Echorec H9 presets in the world. I'm posting three of these presets with a total of seven beautifully cacophonous delays. Use an expression pedal and the hotswitch to get at them. Most, if not all of these seven, were originally created by Brock (it's tough to recall which ones) and I just tweaked them a bit (as should you). Thanks to Brock for his endless generosity. 9/7/2022

Tricerachorus came with so many awesome factory presets that I was spending too much time trying to decide which chorus to use. I solved this problem by packing three of my favorites into one preset. Now I just grab one of these and I'm always satisfied. Use an expression pedal and hotswitch to get at all three. 9/7/2022

I solved this problem by packing two of my favorite flangers and a vibrato into one preset. Now I just grab one of these and I'm always satisfied. This is one in a series of four compressor/boost/EQ presets designed to overdrive the next element in the signal chain (an amp or a pedal). They are all numbered and similarly named. I am using these presets to overdrive a Kingsley Page to sound like a tube-driven TS808, KLON, VOX TOPBOOST etc. The Hotswitch adds 9dB of boost and an expression pedal adds 9dB of boost and compression. Your choice. Naturally, these can be adjusted to taste. 9/7/2022

Pedals like the EP Booster strip the delay from an Echoplex and keep the idiosyncrasies of that preamp. This H9 preset basically does the same with the Tape Echo algorithm. There are two sounds in there, one at each end of the ribbon controller. 8/30/2022

This preset includes two variants of the factory Ultraswell preset. It gives you exp pedal better control over the swell in and out. The hotswitch blends in your dry (uneffected guitar) so you have immediate attack and reduces the swell time of the preset. This might be useful for a solo if you are using the swelling sound for rhythm in a song. YMMV. Adjust to taste.
Description
Drive with delayed Octave Down and 2 Octaves Down.
Description
This preset sets up a playback sampler, with each of the 20 samples being a 1/4 note long. Of course, that can change to any number of samples at any length (in 1-beat increments, and within the limitations of the Looper algorithm).
First, configure the preset below, then hit Record to sample in your 20-beat phrase.
Expression Pedal Heel: PLY-START = 1.0 BEATS
Expression Pedal Toe: PLY-START = 20.0 BEATS
After recording, hit Stop (optional with the AUTOPLAY set).
Change the PLY-LENGTH knob setting from 20.0 BEATS to 1.0 BEAT.
That can be done manually, in H9 Control, with an Aux switch, or over MIDI.
Resume Playback (if Stopped), or continue to AP:LOOP.
Use the Expression Pedal to select any 1/4 note sample from 1-20 for looping.
Change PLAYMODE to ONCE for one-shot phrase triggers.
The image below shows sample #4 looping, due to the current PLY-START position.
