I did a 'clear set up ', via service menu  , Orville sampling rate at normal speed  this worked , but bam the next day same problem

I was advised to do a 'Hard reset' , same problem , but even worst now as I get a 'ca't find program to load .

I have not been able to use the orville either I get asked to reboot , anyway all kinds of errors

Please help my fisrt eventide ewperience has become my worst nightmare

      All the best Sebastian

      Hi Sebastian

very likely this is an used unit…and nobody can possibly know about the conditions it went thru in its honorable career. Which OS version it's running on? At boot time you'll see 2 numbers reported for boot rom and OS version. It may also require reinstalling the latest OS. Also a new internal batttery may be needed. This doesn't really depend on the amount of working hours reported in your next email. Changing it would be wise as we don't know……

Hopefully it's not a hardware problem, which would require the unit to come back at the factory…in which case would be very wise considering to upgrade it to H8000FW.

      all the best

Thanks for the Swift reply Mr I

Ok firstly my unit is getting more and more erratic , from 'stuck during initializing' during startup , all kinds of 'bad checksum messages' get asked to reboot all the time ect.. Even the meter  Leds light up and get stuck sometimes , very capricious reactions

ROm is 3.002 and OS is 1.100  I think !!(which means I should upgrade)

More intrestingly though , from you ansewer is the ability on Upgrading to a H8000FW , now how would this work , and how much would this service cost ? could you please re-contact me on this ! I am interested !

Thanks again for your help , it is very much appreciated !

      Hi Sebastian

looks like your unit is alreay on the latest OS
(3.002). No need to update it, unless you may want to try reinstalling
      it…just in case….

Bad checksum errors may be cured:

      Hello Mr I

yes I tried the bad checksum 'cure' but it did not work , this why I started to think of the battery issue !

I am totally at lost !

I reside in France do you by any chance have certified eventide repair facility you might know about ,

Maybe the best option is to get the whole unit shippe dto you guys and get the full mccoy

      thanks again

      Sebastian

our distributor in France is Juke Box Limited, Paris:

      http://www.jukeboxltd.com/

They can do repairs, depending on how complex the problem might be. Obviously, if you intend to upgrade the unit to H8000, the Orville must come back to the factory (U.S.A.) as this is the only place the upgrade is provided.

You will get back a full blown H8000FW, in its guts and looks. We'll nuke the Orville parts.

New front and back! New life!

      Yes
