So, you want an H9 preset that behaves as a simple volume pedal and nothing else?  And you want to use your expression pedal to control the volume?  With the latest H9 release you can make the expression pedal control the volume on any preset.  In H9 Control when you're looking at the preset, you click on the More button and click the button "EXP controls output volume".  If you don't want the preset to alter your tone, a good candidate for this would be an EQ Compressor preset.  You could set the EQ to flat…  But really you could do this with any preset…

      Hi guys,

Forgive me if this has already been covered.

I want to have a preset on my h9 that acts as a simple volume pedal for country swells and slide playing etc…. Seems like this should be a real simple setting but I can’t seem to find an algorithm…. Should I use trem? Delay? Is there something on pitch factor that will work?

I love this pedal, it has changed my life! BUT!! I definitely need a volume pedal setting since my actual violins pedal has become my expression pedal.

      Thanks friends!

Sounds great. Yes, this is pretty much exactly what I’m looking for. I do a lot of pedal steel swells and stuff (Buchannen style, if you will) and when I do so with certain licks, especially with a slide, it’d be very nice to be able to use the expression pedal instead of the volume knob on my tele. I’ll give it a shot! Thx!

      Hi, I love my H9. It’s a life changer!

I see that we can setup most the presets to use the EXp pedal as a volume control, BUT I’m wondering if you can make the EXP pedal works as a volume control when no preset is engaged, then I could completely eliminate my volume pedal from my pedalboard.

      Thx

I wanted to mention that using the “EXP controls input volume” is also an option here…
Which brings me to my question…
Am I just imagining things or does using the “controls input” feel/sound more like using the volume knob on the guitar or an actual volume pedal in the beginning of the pedal chain?
It feels more “linear” whereas using “controls output” seems like the volume reduction or change in sound is “flatter” from 100 down to 50 or so and then becomes more noticeable from about 50 to 0.
      Thoughts or comments?
