      H8000FW FireWire is not supported on macOS11 Big Sur. If relevant, please bear this in mind before upgrading your Mac.

      FireWire is heading for obsolescence, and few recent machines support it, so we do not expect this to be a problem.

      FireWire is part of the Thunderbolt connection protocol, which in turn is part of the USB-C standard. USB-C isn’t going to go away and is a modern connection that all new Macs come with. A simple adapter is required to connect a FireWire device. Is there any hope that you will ever release an updated H8000FW driver compatible with macOS Big Sur? I am even willing to pay for it and, I think very many would be willing.

      H8000 is now a very old product. It is unlikely that there will be any new drivers in the future.

      Anyone who needs its FireWire capability should NOT upgrade to Big Sur, which is not supported.

      We are aware that there are FireWire adaptors, but have not had success with them with H8000.

      We would recommend that any one who needs to connect H8000 to a Big Sur system obtain an AES interface and use this instead of FireWire.

      Hi! I can override macOS Sonoma security and still load AppleFW driver. My Rosetta 800 is still recognized. Thus H8000FW will do.

      Last macOS 15.1 Sequoia still able to support Firewire devices. I still run my Rosetta 800 with FW. Must be the same for H8000FW.
