When not inputting midi things play back okay.

Could you do me a favour? If you run dice and watch the latency checker, does it go up really high if you open a folder or do any basic operations? 

I have disabled all network facilities.

Is there anything else that could cause intermittent latency spikes? I have tried using the onboard graphics card instead of my nvidea incase it was causing problems, but the same thing is happening.

I have also updated the bios on the motherboard.
