Hi Nickrose
Thanks for your reply! I thought this may be the case. Quite annoying as the unit was working great other then this issue, I bought it as “fully functional” I guess with the age of it some issues are bound to be present.
As I understand it Orville’s are no longer supported and I am in the UK, however what kind of cost would normally be associated with this type of service repair? Also could you tell me is the re-soldering done with a soldering iron or a heat gun using solder paste?
I am more of an electrical engineer however, I do have good skills when it comes to electronics having studied electronic engineering, so my skill level is possibly just short of an actual electronics technician for delicate surface mount work.
I’m thinking now if it is worth getting it to a specialist to carry out the repair however, I know this carry’s some risk should anything go wrong I’m left with a dud unit.
Could you advise if it could be an issue with a specific ram chip? and if so what is the chances of finding suitable spares should any parts be faulty. Below I have attached a few of the bus error messages I have been getting yesterday and today if you are able to get any information from these?
Many thanks Jamie
