I am using StudioOne6 with the Pipeline plugin for my Eclipse with the appropriate ADAT or S/PDIF I/O set up in StudioOne.  When hooked up to the audio I/O everything works like I expect it to.  But when I try and hook this up using either S/PDIF or ADAT I don’t seem to get anything to the eclipse(no level readings) or anything back to Pipeline.  Now it is possible I am using audio RCA cables, not S/PDIF digital RCA cables, but not the ADAT cables.

Apollo 6 ADAT out to Eclipse ADAT in, Eclipse ADAT out to Apollo ADAT in.  Input and output on the Eclipse, channels 1 and 2 set to corresponding ADAT 1 and 2.  Front Panel of Eclipse seems to like the digital setup as the lights are not blinking.

I am new to hooking up digitally so I am a bit confused with all the terms!

      thanks in advance

Rule out a spdif issue. Does it work analog?

Also rule out the obvious. Make sure in goes to output. Make sure connections are solid. Make sure eclipse is set to see the proper digital signal if there’s a setting. Make sure eclipse is set to external clock.

      Thanks.

      It works in analog.

is the clock source on the eventide set to external? If so, have you tried switching it to internal? Toggle that and see what happens. Is the IO properly set up in studio one to actually send SPDIF?

Since you don’t see the signal getting to the eclipse, do you see anything in the UAD console? That is, do you get signal from studio one to the x6 adat out?

ADAT is only on the optical ports (I think; I have an x4 so I’m extrapolating the same on x6), the rca connectors are only spdif which is only 2 channels.

I have an x8. ADAT and spdif are completely separate signal paths and are on different channels in console.

Have you looked at the Eclipse documentation? The digital audio protocols are not setup by default, that may be your issue.

Please read the digital setup and digital connections sections of the manual and let me know what happens after following those instructions. If you are still having issues, I can take a look at my unit and provide further troubleshooting steps.
