Hello, I’ve purchased the H90, along with the UAFX Dream 65 and Ruby. Could you please advise me on the best way to set up the signal chain and how to configure the send/return? Also, what are the recommended settings for the H90? Thank you.

      Hi Pedro,

I have plugged in stereo mode my H90, AFTER my Dream 65, this way it’s as if I was going from the amp (like an actual miked amp cab) to the mixing desk.
In short, the H90 works as a rackmodule inserted into the mixing desk. Then you have to route your H90’s internal signal according with the effect chain you have in mind. At the H90 output I also use a Lelhe stereo P-split to go straight into a mixing desk or actual amps, and avoid phase/groud problems.
This way everithing works fine and smoothly.

My best advice is to have a proper setting of the UAFX that’s the real control point of the rig, meaning it needs a well shaped gainstage to get the best by the whole chain.

      Hope this may helps.

      Bye!
      Ernesto

      Ernesto’s configuration is excellent.

Another is to treat the amp sim pedals as one stereo insert (the two pedals are wired in series).  To do this, your H90 should be set up to operate in insert mode.  The wiring is basically shown and described in the quick start guide and the manual.  The advantage of this configuration is that, internally to the H90, you can move that stereo insert to almost any point in the H90 signal at any time without physically changing any wired connections.  Also, your whole signal chain will be in stereo.

A third configuration is to treat these two pedals as two separate mono inserts.  Again, please see the quick start guide for wiring details.  The downside is that your whole signal chain will not be in stereo.  The upside is that the two mono inserts can be controlled within the H90 itself.  In addition to moving the inserts around as desired, this will allow the H90 to turn the two inserts on and off as desired.  So, for example, you could leave both amp sim pedals on and effectively use an aux switch to turn the Dream and an H90 delay off and also turn the Ruby and an H90 reverb on.  That same aux switch can also switch things back again.

      Good luck.

Your advice has given me a great direction, and I believe h90 will bring me surprises. Thanks again for your response.

      According to what apalazzolo said…

You could try another solution that’s having one amp sim stereo plugged in front of your H90, then the second amp sim stereo plugged into the H90 inserts. This way it can work as if the two amp sims are stacked together. You now have the chance to have one, the other or both in series, the thing you have to chose is which one goes first, as you can’t swap the two.

      Bye!

I’ve just started trying out these two configurations and would like to ask for some advice from you. Additionally, when it comes to h90, should I use ‘insert’ or ‘dual routing’? Thank you.

For Ernesto’s first suggestion insert/dual mode doesn’t matter.

If I understand your first diagram, that is an insert mode implementation with two mono inserts but there are problems.  For example, you have some of the insert ins and outs connected backwards.

I don’t understand your amp connections in your second diagram at all.  Again, though, it looks like you have some ins and outs mixed up.

You may want to look closely at the insert mode diagrams in the quick reference guide and manual.  Perhaps you can start with the two mono or one stereo configurations.  After that works properly for you, try adding more.  I’m slow.  I take baby steps!

      Good luck.

      Hi~I’ve currently adjusted my pedalboard,

The signal chain for this pedalboard is as shown in the diagram: mainly at the CAB SIM end, I’ve connected two UA CAB SIMs in series, and then it goes stereo into the H90. MICRO COSM enters the H90’s FX LOOP (STEREO).

My idea is that since this pedalboard is mainly for live performances, I might need to consider not only sending a STEREO output to the PA but also possibly connecting it to a live guitar amp (RETURN/MONO). In that case, I will turn off the CAB SIM function for DREAM and RUBY. DREAM and RUBY will be my core tones, and their dynamics are really fantastic.

H90 mainly handles modulation/delay/reverb, while MICRO COSM will run in parallel with the H90’s effects, mainly to add some interesting textures.

I’m curious if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions regarding this configuration. Lastly, I’m also looking for a DI or similar product that can meet my output needs, so please provide any advice in that regard. Thank you!
