      Greetings, all!

      I apologize if this has been covered, but my search didn’t turn up quite what I’m looking for.

      I’m using a Boss ES-8 as a part of a wet-dry rig. For years, I’ve been using the ES-8 tuner out into the input of a tuner (Sonic Research), but would like to get that off of my board and use the H90 tuner feature instead. For my guitar signal, I’m currently only using input 1 of the H90 and then stereo outputs 1/2.

      I can use the H90 tuner and it mutes the wet signal, but doesn’t mute the dry. That makes sense, but is suboptimal as I’d like it to be silent.

      What I’d like to do is use the ES-8 tuner out into one of the extra inputs of the H90, so that I can mute the ES-8 (that kills both the dry and wet signals) and still be getting a signal to the H90. I’ve tried plugging it into inputs 2, 3, and 4, but it’s not working. Is there a routing or other type of setting that I need to change to make that work? Does that even make sense as something to do?

      I’m not looking to use any sort of MIDI shenanigans if possible.

      Is the tuner on the H90 set to MUTE? What version of the H90 software are you running?

      I’m using the latest firmware for the H90.

      The H90 tuner is set to mute and does mute the wet signal. The dry signal goes out to an amp before ever getting to the H90, so there’s no way for it to do anything with that, which is why I’d like to use the tuner out feature of the ES-8 and mute from there.

      Tuner only responds to Inputs 1&2, but I don’t recommend using the tuner strictly on input 2. You’d be tricking the H90 to function in stereo when it should be only listening to the mono signal on Input 1.

      FWIW, after reading the OP I tried this with my ES-8+H90 and had the same result = no audio to tuner in using inputs 2-4.

      Maybe the tuner algo *only* sees input 1?

       

      (@dpbeason – I know you didn’t want any MIDI suggestions, but I’m going there with a handy tip…  once the input issue is resolved, you can program the ‘mute’ switch on the ES-8 to flip on the H90 tuner at the same time your muting the ES-8.  just a suggestion.)

      Yeah, I tried input 2 first, but still got nothing.

      Yeah, that midi mute trick was most of the results that I got when searching. I might give that a shot just to make it a bit more convenient if I can get this working. Thanks for the tip!
