Is it possible to change the tempo mode of an algorithm (e.g. the looper) on the device on the fly?
The most helpful way for me would be to use the switch assignment (P, A or B) in performance mode. That way I could achieve an override of the speed setting via tap switch despite incoming midiclock. Unfortunately, the assigned tap function shows “Tap: unused”
I can’t figure it out, unfortunately I can’t find the shortcut to change the mode on the device in the parameter menu either – shame on me…

If the Program’s tempo source is set to MIDI Clock, it will only respond to clock coming from MIDI even if you turn tempo sync off on the algorithm itself. That’s just how the Looper functions. You could use a tap tempo switch connected to the master controller generating the MIDI clock. Otherwise, setting the H90’s Program tempo source to “Program” or “Global”is the only way the Looper algorithm will respond to Performance Mode tap assignments or aux switches; tempo sync must be set ON.
