Hi,
I’ve came across some issues regarding the H90. I’ve got it for awhile, and have used it as standalone apart from my pedal board but never got it fully integrated. I’ve just made the jump to have it fully integrated in my pedalboard and have came across some issues.
First, let me explain how it’s being hooked up –
It is powered on my board with the Fender Engine Room Lvl 8 on 12v with a reverse polarity cable, and it controlled by midi through a 5pin midi cable (both in and out) via my Boss ES-5.
I have the Boss ES-5 set up where certain patches activate a certain patch on my H90 via midi, and audio is being sent through the ES-5 loop.
While it works fine, I realise that sometimes (I still can’t figure out the issue, it is seemed to be caused by different actions), like when I accidentally hit the perform button on my H90 and go back to the select page, the H90 is still responsive but no effects gets turned on (even after changing patches etc) like it straights up bypass the entire pedal. It will only be fixed by restarting the pedal itself. This also happened once while I was creating a new patch via the PC app and suddenly selecting anything doesnt have any effect on the pedal at all, making me not able to create new patches in fear of the same issue.
While i mentioned that restarting the pedal normally works, on the instance when I was creating a patch via the PC app and it started bypassing again, while i restarted it went into a loop (lights turn on, shows EVENTIDE logo and H90 and after flashing loading content it restarts the whole process), I tried restarting power several times and it was the same, tried recovery mode and still kept being in a loop. Didn’t know what the fix was but 40 minutes later it would power up normally.
As im using this board primarily for gig work and have to be using it daily, I need to know a way to fix this and avoid this issue quickly on stage.
Any ideas?

Will attach a picture of my pedalboard if it helps understanding –

Are you using two outlets to power the H90? On the Fender Engine Room, one outlet at 12V only provides 375 mA of current severely under-powering the pedal. Ideally, you want to combine the output of two outlets with a current doubling cable. This would work with two 9V outlets as well.

I am not – there is only 2 variable voltage output on the engine room, im using one at 12v to power the H90 and another one at 18v for my Aguilar Tonehammer.
I thought the power was fine as it is still powering the pedal. So, with what you’re saying, I need to buy a current doubler and connect that to 2 9V outputs, then with a reverse polarity cable (to 2.5) to power the H90?
Will need to source for one.

I would start there…powering the pedal adequately…before we troubleshoot anything else.

Hi
To update – received the doubler cable about 2 hours ago, been working with the pedal for the last 2 hours with no issues.
Damn – to think these weird issues came from the pedal not having enough power, i’m sure i read somewhere that someone had no issues using the 12v output from their strymon zuma which is why I tried it.
Thank you!

Happy to hear things are working normal. Thank you for reporting back.
