      Hello,

I’ve got a Hamer Duotone guitar that has two outputs, one for the electric pickups, and the other for the acoustic piezo. I just got the H90 and the IR-D and I’m trying to figure out how to incorporate both with the Zoom A3 acoustic preamp. I want this particular guitar to use the Preset A of the H90 and route to the IR-D and then to an amplifier on stage, while the balanced out of the IR-D plugs into the PA mixer. Also, I want the acoustic output of the guitar to use Preset B and routes to the A3 which is then plugged into another channel of the PA mixer.

For Preset A, I just want to use a basic modulation effect. I would somehow chain an external delay pedal with the H90, then to an amplifier. For Preset B, I just want to use the 12-string effect for the piezo pickup. I figure that I’m going to have to set the H90 up for dual routing. I’m just stumped with how to incorporate the IR-D outputting to the external amp with effects, not dry. I don’t know if this could be done or if I am going to have to buy a separate effect pedal for my acoustic pickup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

      Hello,

Yes, you’ll want to use Dual Routing for this setup.

If your guitar first goes to H90 preset A, and then to the IR-D, then your effect from preset A should always be present on the IR-D outputs. Have you tried this setup and are experiencing something else?

The setup should be something like:

      Pickup 1 > H90 input 1 > H90 output 1> IR-D > amp and PA

      Pickup 2 > H90 input 3 > H90 output 3 > A3 and PA

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Right now, I’m using the 4CM with one of my amps that has an effects loop. I want the various fuzz and drives to be in front of the amp, while modulation goes to the loop.  I’m thinking about ditching the IR-D because it’s not quite hitting the mark.</p>
Either way, if I’m using the 4CM, I’ve got inputs/outputs 1 going to the front of the amp, and using inputs/outputs 3 for the loop. And have the H90 set up for dual routing.

Am I able to use any of the inputs/outputs to access Preset B for a guitar > H90 > A3 setup? Or am I restricted to the set up you had posted above? I guess I really only have inputs 2 and 4 available.

If you are using Pre/Post with both presets, you will not be able to connect the 2nd pickup to the H90 since both presets are being used already.

My suggestion from before would probably be the best/easiest option if you want both pickups going through the H90.
