I’m trying to make an algorithm which I can use to change presets on a connected PC via named buttons.

      Untitled

      Here’s the algorithm:

I’ve got my H9K connected to my mac via USB B, but I’m not seeing any MIDI messages appear in MidiView (app for monitoring MIDI). Not sure if I did something wrong with the algorithm or my MIDI output isn’t working. I tried the Midi Remote Cntrller algorithm and similarly don’t get any MIDI message when clicking the trigger button.

I’m not sure Trigger is best to test this with.

Try the attached algorithm.  It should send out Mod Wheel messages on the selected channel when you move the Mod knob

Thanks for the test algorithm. I tried it both with USB B and a MIDI -> USB adapter (I’ve confirmed the adapter works with a spare midi keyboard). Either way, nothing coming out of the H9K.

Any chance you can try the algorithm on your own H9K? I’m suspicious that the midicout algorithm has a bug.

      I’ll have a look when I get a chance.

We’ll have to look into this further, but this is most likely due to a limitation of the H9000 not currently being setup to output MIDI data.

It is only guaranteed/tested to output MIDI when using MIDI feedback: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h9000/2.0/content/setup/h9000setup.html#midi

Outputting clock, CC, PC messages, etc are not currently supported.

Are Midi Remote Cntrller and midicout relics of an older device that did support MIDI out?

Is this something that could be fixed in a future firmware update or is it a limitation baked into the hardware? For now I should be able to use a mobile app to send MIDI messages but definitely would be nice to be able to do it via the H9K.

Yes, the MIDI remote controller is an algorithm designed for the H8000 (or maybe another older rack mount unit).

Yes, this could be possible on the H9000 in a future firmware update, but I can’t say if or when we will add this feature.

      Sorry for the confusion.
