You can’t beat the EV-5 for longevity. Two here, decades of use & abuse. For gig work, just defeat or affix that side trim control to maximum, and do all your calibration in the H90. It’s not the greatest for fixed position applications, but the resolution is more than serviceable.
Not familiar with the Gigrig, but I use some similar MIDI controllers extensively. Yes, the depth of sound design capability still surprises me, as does the potential for totally hands-free control. Mind-boggling, when you start folding in MIDI and/or an expression pedal (or two).
