I have discovered that the USB connection to the H9 software on my PC disconnects randomly when I have the MIDI output clock enabled and MIDI set to “Thru and Clock” on the pedal. Is this normal behavior? If so, is the work-around simply to use Bluetooth when connecting to the software?
Yes, this is normal behavior. On page 50 of the user manual it states, “Note: in [THRU+C] and [MERGE], if [CLK.OUT] is set to [ON], incoming MIDI clock will be lost. In these modes, Sysex messages will not pass through…”
To add to what Joe wrote, you should be aware that the H9 cannot be used with both USB and DIN MIDI at once. Your disconnections are likely due to that.
