My first recommendation is to find a tap switch like our Barn3 Tesla Tap, but any normally open momentary aux switch will do.
Connect it to the EXP 1 input of the H90.
Go into the H90’s System Menu > Global > Global – Pedal Ctl (3rd page) and set the Parameter category to Tap Tempo. Set the Ctl Source to Sw1.As long as the H90’s Tempo source is set to Program (default) or Global, tapping the external switch will control the tempo. You can check to see if your Tap switch programming is correct by choosing any factory program with a delay in it. Press the PERFORM knob. The first performance switch is normally already programmed to control tap tempo; it should be flashing. By pressing your external tap switch a couple of times it should register a new tempo.
It’s important to note that only presets that have the metronome symbol next to their name in the Parameters menu will respond to Tap Tempo; Tempo Sync is necessary for Tap Tempo to be controlled externally as I’ve outlined.
