      Hello –

We have released Misha Firmware 1.1.6. Please follow the instructions from the QRG to update your Misha: https://downloads.eventide.com/audio/manuals/misha/Misha-QRG-Web-RevA1.pdf

      FIXES

Previous versions were sending incorrect polyphonic aftertouch bytes for all PassThru modes, except for mode=PassThru. This has been fixed.

      NEW FEATURES

Mouse/Trackpad Control: this version allows a mouse or trackpad to be plugged into the USB input to trigger Misha buttons/functions or affect pitch bend or velocity.

This trackpad, has been tested and works. Other similar products should work as well, as well as wired mice.

      Changes to Setup Menu

In Misha’s menu, USB Kbd Mapping has been moved from “Setup/System” to a new category, “Setup/USB”. And USB has a second category, Mouse

      Mouse

A mouse or trackpad allows these gestures:

      • Click (Left, Right Middle)
      • Drag X direction
      • Drag Y direction
      • Double tap/drag
      • Scroll (finger moving up and down on right edge of trackpad)

The menu items in “Mouse” are as follows:

Button Map: tapping Left/Right/Middle button can now substitute for the same list of Misha buttons/actions that one can assign to a MIDI or USB keyboard

Wheel Function (far right edge of trackpad): None/Pitch Bend/Velocity (set to one of 3 options to assign the wheel function)

X Function: None/Pitch Bend/Velocity (set to one of 3 options to assign the X movement)

Y Function: None/Pitch Bend/Velocity (set to one of 3 options to assign the Y movement)

Double Tap: Enabled/Disabled. If enabled, then pitch bend is sent/velocity is affected while the finger is down, and then pitch bend/velocity returns to ‘center’ when released.  Otherwise, pitch bend/velocity is reset on each new keypress.

When double tap is enabled, it overrides whatever is assigned to its button mapping.

Note that mouse operations have an effect only when a note is currently sounding.

Setup/SD Card now has a “Mouse Map” section, to save the button map settings.  The other settings are saved  in “Menu Settings”.  And all these are saved with the “All Settings” selection as well.

Thanks for the info. Sounds really interesting.

Suggestion 1) when you post about a new firmware, can you go ahead and include a link to the new firmware? This would save me/us time having to search for it.

Suggestion 2) since this process uses the Eventide Device Manager, can you also include a link to the latest version of that too?

Unfortunately I’ve had such troubles updating Misha firmware in the past (I have two, and neither was easy, and took many many attempts), that I’m pretty leery of ever trying it again, but if I’m feeling brave I may try it (if I don’t have to spend a lot of time searching for the files).

      Thanks

I reread the instructions, I forgot that this is all done through the Eventide Device Manager. Apologies for my earlier reply. I did try to edit it, just saying.

No worries- were you able to update?

I can not get my Misha to connect to EDM. I have tried three different usb cables and three different USB ports. I am currently on 1.1.1.

Hold down USR1 and ShiftDown, nothing connected, power up and get USR1 and USR2 lights on. Plug in USB cable, I get no windows connection noise. Open up EDM, no devices. Search for devices, nothing found. What on earth am I doing wrong?

      I even went and downloaded/installed EDM 2.0.1

Uh, well apparently it was my USB hub. I moved some stuff around so I could physically get at a port on my actual PC buried under the desk and that seems to have done the trick. In case anyone else is having issues definitely try connecting directly.

Glad you got it working. Yes, we have seen issues sometimes getting EDM to work with hubs.
