      Hey everyone,

So I just bought an upgrade to my pedal board and have bought a Boss ES-8 Effects switcher (upgrading from a Carl Martin Octa Switch mk3) as I really want to be able to control my pedals with Midi and audio (and have the ability to reorder any pedal without needing to rewire anything).  I have a few thoughts about routing stereo pedals and specifically how people using an H90 would plug it into the ES-8?

For Midi pedals I actually have an H90, Strymon Mobius, Timeline and Bigsky and Digitech Whammy and I want to be able to control all of them with the ES-8s midi capabilities. I’m just a bit confused with how I would plug them into the ES* as they are stereo pedals (and I want them to be stereo not mono).  Loop 8 is a Stereo input and Stereo ouput so would daisy chaining the H90 and Strymons into Loop 8 work? Loops 1 – 6 are mono and I will be using them with my mono pedals. Loop 7 is a mono input with stereo output (so I’m wondering how to use this with stereo pedals)

Anyone with experience using an ES-8 with an H90 and willing to explain how they use them would be excellent.

      Many thanks

      Jono

I haven’t used the h90 with my es8 yet but have used it with my h9…

I would put all my stereo devices on one loop and let midi commands turn them on and off as necessary.

keep in mind there is an offset to the command numbers from the es8 to the eventide.

you can use the eventide’s routing to further play with loops outside of loop 8 using midi functions also.

I use a [MC8 + ES-8] combo, running everything into a *mono* bass rig.  For my needs, it’s perfect for reordering pedals, calling up presets across multiple pedals, sending exp pedals to multiple destinations, triggering modulation sources, etc..

But for running all your stereo goodness *in stereo*, I’d suggest looking at the Morningstar ML10X switcher with an MC8/6 controller.
