Hi
can I just check please. I want to use my expression pedal and G3s to control my H9 via midi.
Q1. I want to use my G3 to send pc messages to my H9 from presets. Everything is set up: channel 1, pc 1 etc etc and it all works off the preset….. But pc1 selects preset 2. I try another, in this case pc 10…. And it selects 11. And so on, every time it’s is selecting +1! Am I just doing something daft? It works perfectly using my old Boss es8 so must be the G3 but what am I doing wrong? I could compensate with a send a -1 message but that’s not the point! Any suggestions?
Q2. I have tap tempo working perfectly using cc messages along with bypass and activate on other presets. Exactly what I wanted to do. The next thing is how do I assign a cc message to control the rotary knobs on the algo, eg mix using an expression pedal. I have the exp in sorted but just need to send the correct cc message for the correct control parameter. So if I assign a cc message number eg cc20 to parameter 1, cc21 to parameter 2 etc which ‘knobs’ does this control? I have spotted there are always 10 ‘knobs’ on each algo and 10 optional parameters, so that’s gotta be it. For 1-10 do we start top left knob (usually mix) and work left to right, then drop to the second row ending in 10 for the bottom right?
Thanks
M

Hello,
If you use H9 Control and go to Pedal Settings > Program Change Receive Map, you can see exactly how this is configured. Sometimes the offset can be caused by your MIDI controller ignoring the PC 0 command, for example if you send PC 0 that will load Preset 1, PC 1 will load Preset 2, etc. You can configure the PC map on the H9 to however you would like this to work, and you can use a MIDI monitor app to see which PC messages your controller is sending.
Yes, there are always 10 knobs for the 10 algorithms parameters and you will map your MIDI CCs to those knobs. Yes, that is the correct order for the knobs.
Let me know if you have any other questions or issues.

Thanks @:tbskogland
That really helps. So I went into the program change receive map and you were correct. I have manually remapped pc 1 to preset 1 all the way up to 99. Rather than doing it manually, is there a global setting that does this, or do I not need to bother. Now it’s done, it will stay there?

You’re welcome. There is no global setting to do this, but there is no reason to do that now that you’ve edited your PC map. The PC map settings will stay that way until you do anything to change them.
