When using CC numbers with a midi controller (MC6 Pro) and an expression pedal, are they programme specific?
They can be if you program them for Performance controls, for example. But if you want assignments to work globally, then you need to program them in the system menu under MIDI-Global control.
For instance if I’m using CC numbers 1,2 and 3 to control various parameters simultaneously on a particular programme can those numbers then be used again on a subsequent programme?
Again, I’d make assignments in System Menu > MIDI > MIDI-Global Ctl
The reason I’m asking is because I remember reading somewhere in the manual that it’s always preferable to use different CC numbers for different controller events.
It’s just starting the obvious that you don’t want to use the same CC# for different functions, otherwise you’ll run into conflicts with double mapped controls.
