This whole diagram is flawed from the get go because you are assuming I/O 1&2 correspond to Insert 1 and I/O 3&4 correspond to Insert 2. Inserts are loops for outboard effects. When in Insert Routing Mode, I/O 1&2 is the main H90 signal flow, not a loop.
