Can I achieve the same or close to DECO vibe/ sound on the H90?

It certainly is a clean sounding, well-crafted, but specialized device.  I personally haven’t heard anything from the Deco I couldn’t do with an H90.

Tape Echo, Head Space (or both together).  Perhaps a 2nd algo (Mod Delay, Flanger) for the other half of the focus in it.

i think you can achieve much more with H90 🙂 also i would added MicroPitch

i can confirm h90 can do it, maybe a good TZF would complete all the deco things.

FWIW I just posted a rough draft program list for the DECO on PatchStorage. It is a work in progress but I think it’s a good start.

It only covers doubling, slap, and delay so far but I’ll add some flange and chorus when I can. Sum mode and Bounce mode are no problem. If there is a way to cover invert mode I certainly don’t know it. Right now I think there are three programs with 12 settings and, obviously, you can adjust to taste from there.

Off the top of my head (and untested), maybe you can give Mod Delay a shot.  Using the Delay Mix as a “panner” or selector switch between in-phase & out-of-phase waveforms.

This only applies to the delay modulation, of course, but Mod Delay is near the top of my go-to list for flanging / chorus.  Minimal ms. delay times, and often the feedback(s) cranked up.  The only other inverted pairs that come to mind are pitch-based.

It’s probably too convoluted to try & jumper the Inserts and repurpose the polarity Invert away from its latency compensation duties.  Again, I’m just winging all of this.

As always, I appreciate your thoughts Brock.

I read up on the through zero flanger jumper trick and there is actually an H90 program for that on PatchStorage. It’s clever but that seems to interfere with my amp sim insert.  Plus, I’m not that ambitious! LOL  Maybe I’ll mention that in the PatchStorage notes.

I have toyed with Mod Delay using inverted modulation but I’ll try it again in light of your panner comment which is new to me.

It’s clear there is no single preset-pair that will cover the DECO’s tonal range so I’m trying to assemble a list of programs that comes close.  That’s a little like providing a DECO with preset capabilities.  It might turn out that some of those programs use Tape Delay while others use Mod Delay or TriceraChorus. I think that’s legit.

I might have a passing familiarity with that Program, if it’s what I’m thinking.

More than legit.  What you’re attempting is to recreate a completely different set of components made by another design team.  If it’s close, you’re effectively molding the H90 into another pedal, through sheer force of will, creativity, and programming skills.  Of course it’s going to take a few different algorithms and Presets / Programs.  That doesn’t diminish the achievement.  It’s about the results.
