I took delivery of an H9000 a week or so ago and it’s a scintillating upgrade here.

I was however puzzled by the (relative) lack of documentation for the H9000, compared to what’s been made available for the H8000.

I have manuals for the KSP8 including one covering all its algorithms at http://kurzweil.com/content/migration/downloads/pub/Kurzweil/Pro_Products/KSP8/Manuals/KSP8_ALG.ZIP – this is a 330-page reference (finalized in 2001) for all the unit’s algorithms including theory of operation, illustrations showing signal flow (see page 316 for an example from a 5.1 verb, that type of flow illustration is attached here in ksp8flow.jpg), parameter-by-parameter exegesis, suggestions for hardware integration and so on.

In a way it reminds of the H8000presets.pdf on Eventide’s site (see in that file page 116 and forward) though more detail seems to have been provided for at least some of the algorithms in the KSP8.

Surely this kind of material could be provided for the H9000? Hands-on learning goes a ways when it comes to integrating what’s-in-the-box with one’s hands-on workflow, but further detail might facilitate a higher order of integration. Also, as the time approaches for a VSigX iteration for the H9000, material of this caliber will make stunning and useful discoveries that much easier to realize using the vsig-doorway for those of us who hope to dive deeply.

For Support: Is an algorithm reference for the H9000 in the plans? Any chance it will cover more territory for the H9000 than the H8000presets.pdf does for the H8000? And if not (ie if not covering more territory) can we hope that the H8000preset-pdf will be edited and re-presented to us early adopters of the H9000 in a soon to come algorithm reference?

I would also like to request an updated algorithmic reference for whatever existing and new modules that Eventide will develop for the H9000.

I have compiled a sort of “algorithmic reference” for the H8000FW from the old .hlp file of VSig. I know it’s not the same (diagrams provide for a much better representation of the signal flow), but I guess it’s better than nothing. If you want it, I can upload it. It’s in pdf format.

      Regards,

      Yannis

I for one would appreciate that.  Most of my material comes from keeping around copies of the H3000 and H8000 algorithm description documents.  They certainly help describe the effect enough to give you an idea of what it might do/sound like, but any additional information would be super helpful.
