On The H90 Is it possible while staying within one program to change the preset in slot A
with an external MIDI foot controller while keeping the same preset Algorithm in Slot B?
For example : I would like to have a Looper in Slot B which remains in place actively looping.
Then change the Algorithm in slot A which is running in series before the looper to a new one
and Dub the new sound into the active loop.
If so, where do map the MIDI to assign a CC# to each preset algorithm for slot A ?

Sorry, this is not possible. You can go to the presets menu on the pedal itself to load a new preset into slot A, but you cannot do this via MIDI.

That is surprising. I would think it would be a common practice to have items on your list of user presets instantly recalled with a MIDI CC #
while staying within one program.
Would this be worth proposing as an update?
As an alternative is it possible to assign MIDI CC#s to the User created Program list numbers so that an external MIDI foot switch can recall each Program then?
Even though something like an active looper or long delay would be lost in this case.

We can consider this but it would be a lot to sort out how this could work.
MIDI CC messages cannot load specific Programs on the H90. You can use CC messages to increment/decrement the Playlist and load them that way. https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.7.1/content/appendix/global.html
You can load specific Programs from the Playlist using PC messages.
I would suggest checking out some multi-FX algorithms, such as SpaceTime or ModEchoVerb. These have a combination of delay/modulation/reverb etc. You can use Hot Switches to recall different states of the preset without loading a new preset (this can be done via MIDI). So you could, for example, use reverb and record your first loop, and then activate a Hot Switch that changes the existing preset to a sound with modulation and delay for overdubs.

OK I see
One solution is to use 2 H90s !!!
With the second one being the looper
Seems like overkill but I find the H90 Looper to be among the best for sound on sound looping that I have heard yet.
The Dub feature is very natural sounding and the loop length and smooth speed variation is unmatched. TimeFactor does not have a long enough loop time
for my use unfortunately.
But just to clarify- you are saying that If I program an external MIDI foot switch (ie KM Soft Step) with Program Change commands I can have essentially multiple Hot Switches that recall a User Program ? That would be ideal and avoid the need to scroll through a list of programs or loading to get to the desired one.

2 H90s will certainly give you a lot of options! You can even use one of the H90s as an insert in the other H90 to change the order of FX and looper.
The Hot Switch and MIDI PCs are two different concepts. Let me clarify:
When using Hot Switches you are not loading a new Program. You are simply changing many parameters of the current Program at once using a footswitch. Example: Use the ModEchoVerb algorithm. Start with a sound that has some reverb but no modulation. When you turn on Hot Switch 1, you can map the modulation parameter to this switch. So you can change the sound of your Program/Preset, without loading a new Program/Preset. Many of the factory programs have built in Hot Switch assignments, if you go to Perform Mode you can explore these.
https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.7.1/content/edit-modes/parameters.html#hotswitch
MIDI PC messages will simply load a new Program. Example: send MIDI PC 20 to the H90, this will load Program 20 from your Playlist.
I suggest trying the Hot Switch option because this will allow you to alter the sound of Preset A while Preset B takes care of the looping. If you load a new Program using PC messages, this will stop whatever loop is happening on Preset B.
