July 6, 2023 at 2:11 am #172295Hi, I hope everyone is doing well. New to the forum and have read a fair amount here but as i’m also not a midi expert I’m wondering if someone would be so kind as to help with the connection of the Hydra, provided it will work the the H90. How would I use CC’s etc.. please. I love Eventide products and have owned a fair amount of hardware but never really deep dived, especially with midi. I would really appreciate the expetise many of you possess and with gratitude I humbly thank you in advance. Best, 808

July 6, 2023 at 3:09 am #172296I don’t own a Hydra, but looking at the manual it seems that it can only send Program Change messages 0-7. This means that if you connect it to the H90, you’ll only be able to switch between programs 1-8. To do that go to the System menu (hold the Program and Routing buttons), go to MIDI and change PC Offset to 1. Also make sure that the Hydra is set to MIDI channel 1.

July 6, 2023 at 3:40 pm #172308I am also not familiar with the controller you have, but MIDI control of the H90 is fairly straightforward. There are no default MIDI mappings, all mappings are customizable by the user. You can make global MIDI mappings so every Program will respond to the same MIDI command such as active/bypass or tap tempo. More information can be found here: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.3.0/content/appendix/global.html You can also map controls per Program by following the instructions here: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.3.0/content/edit-modes/parameters.html#mapping
