Hi everyone, is it possible to set up a program which allows to freeze a signal (e.g. a HotSawz) and overdub it with an unprocessed signal from the inserts?
I know that you can run an insert in parallel but I’m not sure how to mute the insert while playing the note which needs to be freezed, if that makes any sense.

      Long story short:

Freeze a tone with one effect and play over it with another effect.

      Any hint is highly appreciated!
      Cheers!

Yes, this is possible. HotSawz does not have a freeze function, unless I am misunderstanding what you are asking. Polyphony and PolyFlex both have freeze performance parameters, which allow you to play a note/chord and freeze it using one of the footswitches.

Insert routing isn’t needed for this. If you route the H90’s presets in parallel, you now have 1 path for your freeze, and the other path for another effect to play along with the freeze. Turn Kill Dry on for Polyphony so there is no dry signal that passes through.

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I’m almost there. The only thing I’m struggling with is to create a kind of a synth drone from H90 and play along with a “dry” fuzz guitar. Is that working with your suggestion as well? TIA

Ok, for this you can route your presets in series and use HotSawz before Polyphony to add a synth sound before you freeze it. Then you can bypass HotSawz and your dry sound will be layered with the Freeze sound. If you have a fuzz pedal you can use that as an insert before Polyphony.
