Can someone help me setup a simple side chained gate with H3000 Native? I'm suspecting that it doesn't necessarily work in Studio One.
I'm trying to gate a pad with external hihat track. I'm sending the hihat track to H3000 sidechain input, then
input > ampmod
sidechain > ampmod mod
ampmod > output
I tried routing sidechain input to filter too, but neither produces any results.
Is there a trick that I don't know when it comes to using external sidechain, or is it faulty? (I know there are lot's of problems with Studio One + Eventide AU, Omnipressor for example had faulty side chain). Ultrachannel doesn't work at all as AU.

Can anyone confirm that external side chain works on H3000 and Studio One Mac?

Hi rlaine,
Are you using H3000 Factory as an AU or a VST. The external sidechain doesn't work as a VST.
Thanks,

Audiounit. I'm not sure if it works or not. H3000 is kind of a complicated plugin, so I was hoping someone could explain a simple way to try it out. If the way I described earlier is not something that should work.

Hi rlaine,
You will need to modify your above patch slightly. You should use:
input > ampmod
sidechain > envelope in
envelope out > ampmod mod
ampmod > output
Then set the settings on the ampmod and envelope such that you get the desired effect.
You can easily test if the sidechain input is working by connecting sidechain directly to the output and seeing if the audio from the sidechain buss now comes out the output.

Ok, I routed sidechain to outputs and I can here nothing, so the sidechain doesn't work.
This goes for Presonus Studio One 2.6.2 Mac, both 32bit or 64bit and AU. I run OS X 10.8.5.

Hi rlaine,
Have you clicked on the chain button on the upper right hand of the plug-in GUI?

Ok, that was it. I should've known that from Omnipressor, but there was no mention of it in the manual, atleast I didn't catch it. Seems a bit unnecessary since you need to patch it anyway.
Thanks.
So wrong alarm, sorry, it works afterall.

ARGH. Now that I found the side chain button, I also found out that H3000 doesn't remember it when you save/close/load a project. It's off again next time.
It was the same problem with Omnipressor, I reported it more than two years ago and I'm still not sure if it was ever fixed, because the new version does not work at all.
ARGH ARGH ARGH.
