I am trying to upgrade the firmware from 5.5 to 5.6.1.

I downloaded the “H8000_V561_CFCARD” file from the website, copied only this file to a 4MB CF card, and attempted to load it by holding down the 2 button while powering on the unit.

After confirming “Do you want to update?” with “Yes”, the screen immediately gets stuck on “UPDATE FWterm V1.2 <restart> <done>” and does not proceed any further.

Is there an issue with my procedure? I would appreciate any advice.

        Thank you,

          Hello,

I’m sorry but there is limited support for the H8000 and I do not have any update troubleshooting to provide.

There is a bit of information here, but the general recommendation is not to update unless you need to: https://www.eventideaudio.com/forums/topic/h8000fw-upgrading-firmware-problems/

You might find some better information on older posts in our forum.

I appreciate your kind support. I understand that the H8000FW is now considered a vintage unit. However, it has unique characteristics that neither the H9000 nor high-resolution plugins can replicate, so I continue to use it with great care.

I attempted the update several times, but it still didn’t work. As the staff mentioned in the link you provided, there’s no real need to update from 5.5 unless there’s a major issue. Given that, I’ve decided to continue using it as is.

            Thank you so much!
