H9 Core not showing green input signal light

Hello

I have a wet dry wet setup with 3 evh heads and I have my H9 input signal coming from the send effects loop on head 1 and outputting stereo with H9 outputs 1 and 2 going to the effects return on the two EVH slave heads. Guitar is going in the front of head 1 and no matter where I adjust the input level I cannot get a green signal present light or a clipping light.

Is there a setting I am missing in the H9 itself? It sounds normal but like I said there is no signal present light or clipping light.

I was also going to ask, with the 2 slave heads, I am not able to adjust the volume on either and everyone keeps telling me from either evh or eventide that I should at least be able to use the volume to adjust the wet volume which I cannot, but I can with the output level on the H9.

I'm guessing you have a connection or cable issue. Try plugging the guitar directly into the H9 – I suspect that you will get some activity.

If (which is not always the case) I am right, your problem is elsewhere. Try following the signal route and swap cables where possible. You may need to call Sherlock Holmes.

The odd thing is that it plays though all of the amps just fine, all the cables are new which doesnt mean anything, sometimes actually worse but it all sounds normal. I will try plugging the guitar directly in and see if the H9 responds. I did read something on the internet that there is a setting parameter that allows you to choose what source you are using, guitar, keyboard etc…

The source parameter is to do with the way that instrument pitch is handled. I think your problem is less subtle. Plug the guitar into the H9, please.

Cables are fine. Ran the guitar directly to H9 and the green lit right up. So would it be that the EVH 6L6 has to low of a output? I don’t understand why the H9 doesn’t see the effects out signal. Like a said it sounds fine, but I would like to max out the input level to get full sound without clipping and when I change the input level and has no effect on what I hear from the speakers but I can however change the output level.

Sorry – if plugging the guitar into the H9 works fine (as expected), this means that the problem is almost certainly not the H9.

You should probably talk to the makers of the equipment that feed the H9.

Well I have 3 of the exact same head and they all produce the same results.

Probably so. But, if they can't produce at least a guitar-level signal to the H9, things are not going to work.

I think you should consider getting some professional advice – it does not appear that the H9 is at fault, so there is nothing we can do to help you.

I might just say the heck with it. On my red channel it’s seems to be running plenty hot as I can barely move it he volume with tons of output.

Thank you for your help and if I need any further assistance I will contact the manufacturer that makes the amps and see if they have any input on what could be causing the signal loss and the Eventide.
