H9 effects loop question

Hi, i really want to get the Eventide H9, but is have a guitar amp without effects loop, i like the H9 for modulation effects, my question is:

Do you recomend the H9 to use effects modulation connect straigh to the input without effects loop?

If you are really dependent on your amp’s preamp stage for your distortion, you might have problems..

But i used all my effects before the amp for a couple years…. but my gain stages were all on my board.
