Is it ok to power H9 from Cioks DC10?
the DC10 is only showing rated as 400mw…. it seems to work from the 9V port but I have noticed some glicthing sound… like the amp is turning on/off quickly… not sure if its my amp or the H9 occasionally struggling with 400mw when it need 500mw…?
still diagnosing…. I read somewhere that someone moved to the 12V port on the DC10 and its ok… but that port also is only 400mw rated for current… does a 12V port harm the H9?
🙂 any answers appreciated! great pedal..sounds amazing… makes me want to dump many of the other pedals I have 😉

Yes it will work fine on a DC10
Run it from the 12V DC @400 and it will work fine
If you look at the Eventide PowerFactor … the Factor pedal sockets run at 12v DC @400 … and the PowerFactor is made by Cioks
I run 3 H9's from a PowerFactor v1 from he 12V sockets with no problems at all

reply didn't go thru?
ok trying again..
THANK YOU! It works….I just moved it one plug over on the DC10 and now its on the 12V output and it works just fine!! 🙂 thanks !!!

A well regulated 12V, as provided by Mr Cioks, is fine. But an unregulated 12V could cause damage. It will not be obvious to most people whether a given supply is suitable, so we would suggest that you play safe.
It will be no surprise to anyone that damage caused by the power supply is not covered under warranty – an over-voltage may well destroy most of the circuitry.

ok understood! 12v from Cioks is 'most likely ok'… but 12v from other sources are to be considered potentially bad…
and you are not legally bound by any of this – once we exit from the 9v adaptor you provided in the box.. 😉 thanks understood!
cheers!

I have an H9 on the way and own a Cioks AC10. It has slightly different mA / voltage options. My DC choices are:
- 9v 200mA
- 12v 200mA
- 9v 600mA
- 12v 600mA
Is it correct that extra mA's are OK? Thanks!

Yes. Extra current is OK.

Great thanks. So all of the options above I listed will work for the H9, or at the very least not damage it?

I answered my own question:
I am currently powering 2 H9's from an AC10 using the 9v & 12v 600mA ports. Works great. -

…and I got it wrong. You aren't supposed to use both of the the 9/12v 600mA jacks on the Cioks, only one. It was "working" but I was getting a buzz when both H9's were active. Switching one to a 12v / 200mA jack seems to work fine even though that is less current than I thought would work. So far no problem.
What is the suggested current at 12v?
