<span style=”font-size: inherit;”>As the jacks on the rear are really close together it is quite difficult to add another cable if you decide you want to use a mono setup and stereo </span>
For example I was planning on using stereo on my practice amp at home but mono when I rehearse with my band.
Would it be possible to have a global option in the menu to output in mono or stereo so you could either switch off output 2 when not on use or have the H90 send out dual mono to outputs 1 & 2.
This would really help with pedalboards that are tightly packed and allow the H90 to be easily used on the front row of a board.
Hope that makes sense. Thanks

up for this feature!

Second this. I thought it was standard and was very surprised that I had to pull a cable out of output 2 to make the change between stereo and mono. It is just weird knowing that there is a mechanism in the software that switches Stereo to Mono when I pull cables, but there is no option to trigger it in the menu.

The “force mono” feature was added to the 1.8.6 software which allows you use the pedal in mono regardless of the input/output jacks connected.
More information can be found here: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.8.6/content/system-menu/io.html
Let me know if you have any questions.

Hello- I was wondering if it’s possible to take this a step further. I’m running my rig through a switcher and would like to be able to use the pedal in Dual mode with I/O 1 and 2 running mono and I/O 3 and 4 running stereo. This way i can route A in separate stages of the chain pre or post dirty effects but also use B as a stereo effect at the end of the chain. Hope this makes sense.

Hello,
If you’d like to run Path 1 in mono, you just need to connect input/output 1 for a mono signal.
Path 2 will work in stereo if a stereo input/output connection is made.

I would like to run Path 1 in Mono but in two separate instances. I’m using a RJM PBC10. I would like to have the option to run Path 1 in a loop before my drive pedals or after in a separate loop. Then run Path 2 in stereo in another loop. Could this be achieved if the pedal was capable of Forced Mono for I/O 1 and 2 but Stereo in I/O 3 and 4?

Sorry, I don’t understand this use case. Why do you need 2 mono loops in the loop switcher for Path 1? You will only be able to use Path 1 in mono for a single location in your loop switch signal path.
I would suggest using a single mono loop for Path 1, and a stereo loop for Path 2. You can use the loop switcher to determine where either of the paths are, and if you leave the H90’s output mode on auto this will work correctly.

This is how I’m currently using the H90. Path 1 is in mono before overdrive effects in front of the amp and path 2 is in stereo after the amp. I would like to be able decide if Path 1 is heard before or after my overdrive section and the RJM PBC10 does not allow for the loops to be reordered. My thought is that this could be achieved by having I/O 1 and 2 on the H90 both sending the same mono signal and I/O 3 and 4 running in stereo. My signal path is below. Hope this helps.
Guitar>Comp>H90 I/O 1 Mono>Overdrive Section>H90 I/O 2 Mono> Strymon Iridium Stereo>H90 I/O 3 & 4 stereo>Stereo effects>DI

Thanks for clarifying. I assumed your loop switcher would allow you to reorder the signal path, my mistake.
I can log this request but I can’t confirm if this feature will ever be added. I would suggest trying to find a work around if possible.

I’m having an issue with levels and this mode. If I toggle to force mono, it drops the level significantly- which is expected and great. However, if I power cycle the unit, the setting remains the same, but the levels increase significantly, until I toggle the switch to auto, then back to forced mono. Is this a bug? Just updated to the latest rev.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I am unable to reproduce this. When I toggle force mono I can see/hear the level decrease, then if I power off the H90 the signal is not summed to mono anymore and the level increases, then when I power the H90 back on the signal is summed to mono and goes back down to the previous reduced level.
Can you try this with two THRU algorithms and let me know if you experience the same issue? Are you able to hear if the stereo input is summed to mono when this happens?
It would be best if you can email support@eventideaudio.com with a video that demonstrates this issue. If you can show the output being monitored in a DAW or some software with audio level meters that shows the difference in volume, that would be helpful,
