Hello there,
I have an issue I am trying to solve. I am using my H90 in the FX loop of my Quad Cortex. I have cables from the Send 1 of QC to the Input 1 of my H90, and from the Out 1 from the H90 to the Return 1 of the QC. I see on my QC signal going through the send, but nothing coming back from the return.
Couple questions
- Cabling: Do i need to use TRS cables or can I use TS cables?
- Routing: I am leaving it on Insert as I am not (yet) doing a stereo send/return to my QC (which would require cables be run to/from those I/O’s)
- Should I see signal activity on the Input Level Indicator?
- Is it ok to keep it set to Instrument vs. Line for the Input?
For awareness, on my QC the lane (which should be correct, confirmed with QC support) is just a single lane, Amp block, cab, and then FX Loop1.
Lastly, when plugging my guitar straight into Input 1 (after doing a Factory reset) using a single cable, I do not see input activity on the Input Level Indicator.

TS should be fine.

Insert should be fine.

With a signal in input jack 1, you should see activity on the channel 1 meter above the display, yes.
Is it ok to keep it set to Instrument vs. Line for the Input?
This depends on how the QC is configured, but for the moment Instrument level should be OK.
There are some further things you can do to troubleshoot your design:
– Does your H90 work correctly when set up stand-alone (i.e. without the QC involved)?– Does the QC return channel get audio when the H90 is relay bypassed?

Thank you so much for the super-fast response.
I am checking the following and will report back!
