Hi,
I use a loop switch + midi controller (musicomlab MK V) to allow overall control over my rig, which usually includes using loops for my non-midi pedals and MIDI PC/CC for my midi pedals. This way I can both change presets and activate / bypass whatever I need either through loop or through midi.
That works perfect with all my Strymon pedals, and for H90 it works fine until I need to switch between programs and use my MIDI setting for presets Activation / Bypass. In more details, my setting works like this:
Loops for Compressors and overdrives -> loop for insert 1/2 of H90 (Keeping preset A always active so no issues here, using the loop to act/byp), then out of controller to Strymon Mobius -> StrymonTimeline -> H90 inserts 3/4 -> Strymon BigskyUsually I set the routing with inserts between preset A and B to allow the strymon pedals get in the middle of the chain.
So I don’t have a dedicated loop for preset B or for any of all my midi pedals except H90 I/O 1-2 (and can’t really use loop without loosing some of these routing capabilities), which means I use MIDI CC also for B Act/Byp (M).
That’s exactly how I intended it to be, and as mentioned above I’m used to this method with all my Strymon pedals to activate and bypass freely even when changing presets on each one of them. The thing is, as long as I’m on 1 preset of my controller and playing with the switch that is assigned to B Act/Byp (M) Midi CC number, then preset B responds well (switch on = preset B active, switch off = preset B bypassed).
But when loading a new preset on my controller (which loads a new program on H90), the H90 prioritizes the PROGRAM original saved status rather then the midi CC setting of the controller preset.
So if I load a preset where the switch assigned to “B Act/Byp (M)” Midi CC number is on (as part of this controller saved preset), the H90 program will still load the new program with preset B bypassed if the program was saved this way. This is a big issue because for me a major use case is switching presets from controller, with maximum flexibility for various parts of a song and so on.
But here I must fall back to the original program setting, which forces me to duplicate programs with preset B active on one and bypassed on the other and then use each one according to my needs, or some workaround like this.
Obviously that feels cumbersome and unnecessary, and as any other pedal the midi CCs should be prioritized over the original program settings – otherwise there’s no point using them (I can always choose NOT to use midi CC for B Act/Byp (M) at all, and then original program setting should definitely take control, but if I do choose to use the midi CC option then I want it to ALWAYS work according to my own customized presets).I hope this feedback is clear and would be fixed soon
Thank you! -

Hello,
Can you please be more specific about the issue that is happening?
Are you sending a MIDI PC message from your controller, and also sending an additional MIDI CC from the controller for the active/bypass state? And the MIDI CC for the active/bypass state is not working?
It would be probably be better to troubleshoot this issue if you emailed support@eventideaudio.com and provide a video that demonstrates the issue.
