ParticipantHello,
just received my H9000.
I’d like to confirm if these features do not exist (emote):
1. Creating new session from emote (I have to do this from the panel every time?)
2. Randomize via Emote not possible?
3. Mapping random to a trigger not possible (feature request!)?
4. Is there a way to set random % (feature request!)?
4. Only way to create a new fx chain via emote is to drag a preset and clearing things/rerouting?Also wondering what the general take is by Ableton users on the h9000 as far as ergonomics and workflow. Working quickly is a priority to me, especially when it comes to experimenting with order/routings/modulation.
I want to love it. I’m sure I’ll get faster with it, and I totally get that it’s an insanely sophisticated device as far as what it can do. Just not feeling a huge difference from the limitations of my 90/00s hardware with editors. If I’m looking to stay away from slowdowns – would I be better off returning / buying the plugin suite (I’m on a Mac Studio)? The h90 also seems a little more elegant as far as editor (iPad compatibility) – I guess the tech in the h9000 is powerful but is indeed 8+ years old. Didn’t really consider that. What is the general outlook for emote/h9000 – does it seem to be improving or kind of just stuck with their limitations?

Hello,
Congratulations on the the H9000! Thanks for your questions, answers below:
- You can create a new session in Emote by simply loading a blank temple and selecting “Save to H9000”. You can save a “Blank Template” starting session to use if that suits your workflow.
- Correct
- Can you elaborate on this feature request? Almost any parameter can be mapped to various MIDI or footswitch controllers. What is the random trigger?
- Please elaborate, what would you like a random % applied to?
- There must always be at least 1 FX Chain present. You can drag existing FX Chain presets on top of your FX Chains to replace them, or add a new FX Chain if not all 4 slots are occupied. There are many blank FX Chain templates, search “template” in the FX Chain browser. Replacing an FX Chain will not overwrite your I/O routing.
Any specific DAW will not make much of a difference when using an H9000. It all comes down to your workflow and how you prefer to track, mix, and produce your music. The external audio effects in Live work great for me, and I have templates in Live where I always have FX Chains to access easily on the FX sends. Once you have the hang of how the H9000 works and you have some templates to fit your set up, I think you will find that it can seamlessly integrate and improve your workflow.
Can you provide some more information with what your workflow is and what you’re looking to achieve? The H9000 is a very deep processor with thousands of algorithms and presets to choose from. These can be combined in various routings to achieve even more complex effects processing. What algorithms have experimented with so far? Are there effects that you are looking for that you haven’t been able to get out of the H9000 yet? I could help point you in the right direction for some algorithms and FX Chains to try out.
We continue to add new features and updates to the H9000. We recently released an update that introduced brand new vocal processing effects that are not available on any other devices. We are constantly working to innovate and improve the product, so please let us know if you have any suggestions for improvements.
Let me know if you’d like me to elaborate on any of these points and thanks for taking the time to post here.
