Is it possible to use the MADI expansion card at 96k for 16 channels instead of 32?

Can’t seem to find the answer.

Will be interfacing with RME UFX+ via coaxial MADI

      Thanks in advance.

MADI at 96KHz works with no issues. I don’t understand why you want to limit to 16 channels though? Won’t the UFX+ do at least 32 channels at 96K? I’m able to run 24 channels to and from an SSL MADI Alphalink AX at 96KHz, but that’s only because it’s a 24 channel device. The H9000 will do 32 channels over MADI at 96KHz.

      Thanks.

I’d love lots of channels but am already running other MADI converters off the RME so my channel count is limited by that.

      Cheers

If I’m running multiple units in a madi optical chain, does the H9000 have a selector for where it goes in the chain to adjust for latency?

I have an SPL Madison converter too. It can be selected as 1,2,3 or 4 in the chain.

Planning to put H9000 first and Madison 2nd.

Just wonder if the H9000 must go first or can it go further downstream?

Planning to use the first 1-16 channels of MADI for the H9000.
Then the 17-32 for my SPL madison.

      Will experiment.

      Ideally running at 96k

It probably makes the most sense to put the H9000 first in the chain.  So, assuming that means you are using MADI channels 1-8 for the H9000 and 9-32 for the other devices in the chain, you would use Direct IO to route MADI In 9-32 to MADI Out 9-32 on the H9000.
