You use the good four conductor (TRRS) mini phone jack so it should work.
I am very interested by your problem because i’d like to make the same install with my mixing link and my ipad.
So any suggestion from Eventide ?
Thanks

July 26, 2016 at 5:18 pm #143932saxbeeMemberI Already Used TRRS Line …They Said They don’t claim Apple headphone jack compatibility for sending audio to iOS device……..But Good Effect App is usually only iOS system…I Guess….issue is MAC Device Pin 3 Is ground & Pin 4 is Mic, But Usually Pin 3 is Mic!but I’m not Sure. and don’t Know How To fix it!

Do you have the possibility to try with a regular TRRS connector (with mic in the mic on the pin 3) ?
Where did you see that the Apple TRRS jack was not compatible ?

Please dear Eventide techs can you answer to this very interesting question : is it possible to use an ipad or an iphone as a source of effect with the Mixing link ?
I read that it is possible in several specialised website before bying my Mixing link. (here for example : http://www.musicradar.com/reviews/guitars/eventide-mixinglink-608453)
And this schema on your website show that it’s possible to plug an ipad type device to have an in+out connectivity to the mobile device using a four-conductor 1/8 TRRS cable.
Thank you for your insight.

Apple TRRS jack was not compatible info is from eventide customer service.
i’m not eventide engineer. I just guess MixingLink Aux phonejack pin3 is mic, but in ios device mic signal in pin4, so if use regular trrs line link mixinglink & IOS device, maybe have some phase issue.

Maybe you could try an adapter converter like this one :
It’s done to convert the Apple headphone system (OMTP protocol) with other stuff using CTIA protocol (Sony, Motorola, LG… and maybe also Eventide Mixing Link). It resolve the problem of Ground and Mic.
Please someone from Eventide can confirm that this type of converter could do the job ?
Thank you.

Is it possible to know which TRRS cable we have to use to connect the Mixing Link Aux to an iphone or ipad ?
For exemple if we use this style of adaptator will it work ? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SONY-CTIA-to-OMTP-Adapter-Converter-Cable-for…
Thank you.

Eventide did not get Apple Approval for support of iPhone/iPad head/mic jack with the MXLNK AUX jack.
Currently there is no work-around for direct interfacing to iOS devices.

Would the Lightning to 3.5mm adaptor make any difference? It is just an idea.

Hey this cable works for me. I am using IOS guitar apps ( AmpliTube, Cubasis, GBand, Ampkit) with Mixing link. Can be noisy at times. Never tried it with a mic

I tried this and I can't get it to work reliable with various apps and devices with iOS 10.
So that being said, Eventide does not support MXLNK using the AUX connecter as an IOS interface
