      Hey there!

I would like to run my MixingLink to my iPhone 15 Pro and use that signal when recording video.  Specifically, I want to run a backing track into the Aux in and my pedalboard into the instrument in.  I thought this would work with the “Phones” or “To Amp” out to my phone (with an Aux to USB C adapter), but it didn’t.  The video recorded still just used the external mic.

Traditionally, I’ve had to record audio to my interface and into Garageband and sync it with a video from my phone….not super convenient.  I really just want to plug the MixingLink into my phone and play.  Once I have a default mix figured out, I can then record quickly whenever I want.  Thanks!

      Hello,

In order to use bidirectional audio on the MixingLink, you’ll need to use a TRRS 1/8 cable, and the USB C adapter will also need to accept TRRS connections. Can you please confirm you are using both of those?

You also may need to open the camera app first, and then connect the USB adapter for it to recognize the USB input: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/229346/how-do-i-record-video-on-ios-with-external-audio-interface

I tried this with a TRRS to USB C cable and opening the app first.  It didn’t work.  I got some sort of buzzing noise, but the sound didn’t pass through.  Annoyingly, doing this triggered Siri, but since I was plugged into the USB C port, I couldn’t hear what she was saying, lol.

I am using a TRRS to USB C cable, but it isn’t working.  I tried resetting recognized USB devices in settings, then I opened the camera app and picked video.  Finally, I plugged this cable in.  It triggers Siri, but I can’t hear what Siri might be saying because the USB C is plugged in.  Occasionally, I get a prompt to select whether I plugged in headphones or “another device”.  I have tired selecting both, but I get no audio pass through when I record.

If I plug into a speaker rather than my phone, or if I plug headphones in instead of the TRRS to USB C cable, I can hear the pass through.  Any other ideas?

        Thanks!

I will try it tonight. I ordered a new cable just in case too. Thanks!
