I have an issue with the 2016 Stereo Room and Quadravox plugins. Most of the time the plugins will not load and simply fail silently in Cubase 8 Pro – a few times I’ve experienced that the plugins do load, however when reopening the project the next day they fail again (silently).
My configuration is Win7 64bit, Cubase 8 Pro 32 bit, iLok2
Anyone else experienced this?

Hi Newvisions-
Make sure you don't have the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the plug-ins installed in the same folder.
Additionally, what version of Cubase 8 do you have? The early versions of Cubase 8 were very buggy with this kind of thing, I’d recommend you upgrade to 8.0.20 or higher if you haven't already.

Only the 32 bit dll in the folder and latest version of cubase 8 (8.0.40 I believe).

Ok, so there's never an error message or anything when they fail?
Also, you are sure you have the latest version of each plug-in?

Nothing – complete silent fail (which is an issue in cubase when the fixed limit of instances impossed on the c-runtime when linked statically is reached, but that is not the case here).
And yes I am using the latest version (I just bought the plugins).

Ok, thanks. I don't know if you've seen, but this seems to be an issue that's affecting a number of Cubase users: https://www.steinberg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=226&t=95005. I'll try and look into that more, to see if it is related (though I suspect it is).
If you try doing this in a blank session, and saving/reopening, does the issue occur? Or is it only in sessions with lots of plug-ins loaded?
Best,
Tom

I’ve seen the Steinberg thread – as I wrote in my previous message, that issue is related to plugins statically linking the c-runtime and windows apparently have a fixed limit for the number of instances – however that limit is quite high, which is why most people never experience the problem.
The issues I’m having with the Eventide plugins manifest themselves even in very small projects with very few plugins loaded (recently in a test project with just 5 other plugins).

Ok, just wanted to be sure that this is an Eventide specific issue.
What are the other plug-ins you have running when you tried testing in a small project? Are they iLok based plug-ins? Can you confirm you have the latest version of iLok License Manager? http://ilok.com

Mostly NI stuff (Reaktor 6, Battery 4) – doesn’t seem to be any pattern though (believe me I’ve been through all this before contacting you).
Latest Ilok sw version and Ilok2 hw dongle

I forgot – other ilok based plugins (sonnox, Drms, Antares, Soundtoys etc.) all work fine.

In case anyone else experience this the latest version has resolved it and everything is now working flawlessly.
I must say, the support and dedication to solve this from Eventide has been second to none!
