I am having a bit of trouble with the auto engage feature. Some of the time the effect is still on, even if I have returned my expression pedal to the heel position and the manual flex parameter is at zero. I can mostly make the auto engage switch off by using the expression pedal a bit and then returning it to the heel position, but that works only erratically. In any case, it is a distraction that it does not turn off by itself.
Similarly, I find that often when I engage the corresponding program, the auto engage has not switched off. It would be better if the algorithm defaults to off, when it is engaged.

What’s kind of expression pedal are you using? Is the potentiometer rated for 10 kohm – 25 kohm, the H90 sweet spot?
The first thing I would try is calibrating your expression pedal in the system menu > I/O > Calibration. Make sure you’re getting a zero to 100 sweep range and it says zero when the pedal is in the heal position. Auto engage is dependent on the expression pedal position so ensuring proper operation is crucial. The only other parameter that may be affecting performance is the Auto Engage Hold Time: If Auto Engage is on, this parameter allows the pitch shifted effect to remain on for a period of time from 0 to 1 second. This can help the auto engage parameter from disengaging abruptly. It would be worth exploring if different settings work better for your setup.

Thanks.
I have an EV-5, which I understand is 10k.
I have calibrated and the pedal gives me the 0-100 range as it should.
The problem is that the effect does not always disengage when the manual flex parameter is at 0.00.

I wonder, could it be a rounding issue in the code? 0.00 is not exactly 0.

The best thing I recommend is contacting support@eventideaudio.com and submitting a video of the behavior. Make sure you’re only the latest version of the H90 firmware. This way we can try to replicate the issue and make recommendations.

Thanks, I will do that.
