<p style=”text-align: right;”>Hello, I did a search for this and didn’t find anything. I just updated H90 Control to version 1.7etc and proceeded to download the new firmware. I pressed Install and a window comes up saying “Installing Updates…Waiting for H90 mount”. It has been doing this for over 20 minutes so clearly something is wrong. Does anyone have any advice? USB seems to be working since the H90 appeared as a connected device in H90 Control. I am using Mac OS Ventura 13.5.</p>
Thank youAttachments:

Problem is solved. I am just going to post here what happened in case anyone else has this issue..
I had to do a factory reset of the device and then it allowed the firmware to download and transfer from the computer to the H90. However, during the firmware update process (firmware transfer to device from my computer), it said that 2 files were not updated or something to that effect. When I turned on the H90 pedal it got stuck in the boot up process and there was a line at the bottom of the device screen saying “E2:/install/myserialnumber-h90-1.6.11.6.bam bad file…”. I don’t know if it said anything after “file” because there is not enough room on the screen. Also every light got lit up on the pedal and stayed lit. I tried to perform a factory reset but still would get the same message and situation. H90 Control also would not recognize that my device was connected. Tried the factory reset a couple of times and same result. So at this point I was fearing that I had $900 brick with Xmas lights. Next I went back to H90 control and clicked on the sandwich menu icon and selected “H90 Recovery”. It told me to enter recovery mode by booting up the pedal while holding down the Select, Perform, and Quick Knob 1 buttons simultaneously. I did this and the H90 screen booted up in recovery mode. The screen said H90 Recovery v1.01. It just sat there doing nothing. I went back to H90 Control and my device seemed to be recognized and I re-installed the firmware. Again nothing happened so I did the firmware installation again, and this time it took. Everything is back to being functional. Not sure why this was such an arduous process with mutliple attempts for the download to get into the device correctly but after changing my pants I am happy again.

Hello,
Sorry for the update issues you were having and glad to hear that you were able to resolve this.
To clarify for other users, it is not necessary or recommended to factory reset your H90 if you are having update issues. If the initial update fails, you can use Recovery Mode to try the update again. Instructions can be found here: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.7.1/content/appendix/startup.html#recovery-mode
If you still cannot update using Recovery Mode, contact support@eventide.com.

Ya, this just happened to me, this really should not be happening for something that costs this much money.

I tried Recovery, When I clicked on Recovery in the App, it says error opening midi port, then gives me instructions to do what I just did. Very disappointing.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Are you running a DAW or another application that uses MIDI? That may be why you are seeing that error message.
Are you using Mac or Windows?

i have exactly this problem.
h90 controll 1.7.11 (Mac)
h90 firmware (software) = 1.5.6.161
I can’t see my h90 in my control application on my MacBook pro
after loading in recovery mode… I can see it, and I can connect.
but first: it asks me for a Code I don’t have, and refers to the screen of my h90 ( which is in recovery mode and doesn’t show a code)
and sometimes it does connect….. I have a midi error (not midi port h90 found)

Ok, thanks for the information. Our offices are closed over the weekend, but someone will get back to you soon.
I would suggest trying the recovery mode update procedure: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.9.7/content/appendix/startup.html#recovery-mode

Hiya Team,
Sharing my experiences here as I’m feeling a little confused by the advice I have had to date and not had any contact from support since 19 Dec.
– Brand new H90 Dark was purchased last week, pedal powered on and connected to directly to mac via Eventide supplied USB cable.
– Pedal registered to user account, current version of Control app dowloaded 1.8.16
– Control app launched.
– Pedal added to Control app.
– Prompted to download latest firmware 1.9.8
– Followed prompts to download / install firmware.
– Materials appear to download, pedal then gets stuck in WAITING TO MOUNT mode.
Repeated multiple times same outcome, locked up in WAITING TO MOUNT mode.
Once pedal locks in WAITING TO MOUNT the only way to use it is to remove the power and reboot.
Im on Mac M2 Pro, running Sequoia 15.1.1
By the looks of this thread this seems to be a known bug, over to Eventide for comment and support please!
(….yes Eventide I’ve raised a ticket and have had no response to two emails since 19 Dec).
Thank you!

Having a very similar problem here too with my H90 Dark as well.
Pedal Connected to IPADOS and telling me there is an update.
Disconnect everything and bring ii to the window 11 PC – Connect Download Mount. Seem to have successfully updated.
Bring the pedal back to the desk connect it to the IPAD . IPAD keep stating that there is an UPDATE. Did it twice. same result.

Sorry for the issues you are having.
Are you using the latest version of H90 Control on the iPad? That is version 1.8.16.
Does the problem persist after restarting the iPad?
You can also try deleting the H90 from H90 Control by clicking the “X” button, and then adding it again by clicking “Add Device” in the top right corner of the app.

No worries, these things happen and it take a while to hammer out all the issues on various platforms. I do appreciate the quick reply , this pedal is simply fantastic .
Latest IPADOS Version of the H90 app installed.
Deleting and re-adding the device fixed it.
Thanks again and Happy holidays to you and your family. 🙂

I encountered the same problem with my pedal when I tried to update it via my Mac. I took an old Surface Pro I had at home, connected it with a USB-C to USB-C cable (since that’s the only port on this tablet), downloaded the app, and the update went through successfully.

I have tried all the solutions introduced here.
I attempted updating from recovery mode, a normal update, changing cables, disabling antivirus firewall, and more, but I still cannot update the firmware! When I try to update in recovery mode, the screen freezes at “Waiting for H90 mount.”
When attempting a normal update, the screen gets stuck with the double-arrow icon displayed. The device is recognized as “H90 Pedal” on my desktop, so it seems to be detected.
I bought this for a live performance, but the event is approaching, and I’m running out of time, so I’m very anxious. Will performing a factory reset possibly allow me to successfully update?

Hello. What do you use to make this ?
Here my solution to this after a lot of research :
Use Recovery Mode:https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.7.1/content/appendix/startup.html#recovery-mode
Make sure you are not using a USB hub.
Make sure there are no other USB or MIDI devices attached to your computer.Try a different USB cable
Try a different USB port.try an USB-C to USB-C cable
Make sure no other programs are running.
Make sure antivirus or firewall programs are not interfering with the update.10. Try a different computer, or device.
For information, I never can do the last update from my MacMini. And it’s simply works at the first try in an old Surface Pro, with an USB-C to USB-C cable 🙂

Hello,
I was able to resolve the issue by using an older PC (Mac OS Monterey).
On the latest OS, the update would freeze during the process. However, when I tried updating using an old M1 Mac Mini that I hadn’t been using, I got a message saying, “H90 Control is trying to access a file on a removable volume,” and the update completed successfully.
On Mac OS Sequoia 15.2, I had already granted H90 Control permission under the system’s “Full Disk Access” settings, but since this message didn’t appear, the update never completed no matter how long I waited.
