Are there advantages to using RNBO for the H9000 (per https://www.proaudio.de/en/news/recording/28851-eventide-h9000-supports-rnbo-patch-import.html) versus Gen~ using https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h9000/2.0/content/development/gen~.html

I’ve been wondering why I can’t find any official information about this on either the Eventide site or the Cycling ’74 site. I must be missing something, but so far I haven’t found anything other than articles on the news sites such as the one you linked to. The RNBO docs haven’t been updated to mention the H9000 either.

@puppeteer: I am not a Max expert at all but as I understand it, there’s a lot more you can do with rnbo~ than with gen~, although there’s some overlap in functionality. Conversely there are some things gen~ does that rnbo~ doesn’t – for example you can process one sample at a time, as opposed to a block at a time. But I think there’s a gen~ object within rnbo~ as well, so you can do that if you need sample at a time processing.
@studionebula: This is very new, and the RNBO package supporting the H9000 is not yet released to the Max package manager, and the documentation is mostly relevant to the Max side of things because that’s where all the user interaction is. Having said that, we’ll make sure there’s some documentation on the H9000 side as well. -

Thanks for the info. As a current audio developer and H9000 owner, and former employee of Cycling ’74, I’m very excited by this news.

Thanks for the update. I look forward to exploring this. I’ll need to start saving the pennies to get Max and RNBO.

Thanks to my supporters and the black Friday sales, I’ve managed to get myself a Max 8 and RNBO license, so will be starting down this rabbit hole soon. My supporters are absolute legends. I’ll be getting some special goodies out for you soon.
Is there any update as to when RNBO package for the H9000 is likely to be released or is it possible to get access to any beta’s?

@jamberg
Can you please check to see if the gen converter is still working. The H9000 watcher won’t find my H9000, the manual setup does nothing, and when I try to build the code, I get the following error. ERROR: invalid response data from build server: Forbidden
I’m just trying the example patches to see if I can get them to install, but no luck so far.
