July 18, 2019 at 3:36 pm #115430minor9MemberJust got my H9 Max and I’m super excited! Having bit of a hard time figuring out how to connect everything though.I think I’ll get the most out of the H9 by using pre/post – one connection before the preamp and one in the FX loop of the amp.I have a Musicomlab loop switcher which also makes it possible to move the “PRE-H9” around in the effects chain. There are a few question marks though. For live purposes, the H9 PRE would be in one of the loops on the switcher placed before the preamp.H9 POST is in the amps FX loop (Neo Mini Vent > Timeline > H9).When using my pedalboard at home, I’d like to be able to connect it to my computer for recording purposes. In that case I’d like to run the H9 (+ Mini Vent and Timeline) in stereo. If it’s already wired up for pre/post instead, what would be the best solution for switching over to stereo? If I want to send a stereo signal from my PC through just these three pedals, I guess what I’m looking for is some way of rewiring one pair of inputs/outputs on the H9? Do you know of a possible solution to this? Some sort of patch box that rewires the whole thing based on if a new output/input cable is introduced?

One thing to note is that pre/post runs the signal through the AD/DA converters twice.

Good point. Although if I had the pre side in a separate and deactivated loop on my switcher, the signal would in this case only run once through the converterrs – when going through the FX loop? On top of that, I could have the H9 in true bypass mode to remove it completely from the chain? Just trying to get my head around this.

There is no elegant way to switch from pre/post to stereo.
You will have to essentially re-wire your chain by hand, as well as make some changes in the H9 control software.
BUT.. I think it is a hard reality that some of the effects belong in the effects lop, and some belong at the start of the chain.
That said- your Musiccomb has some stereo loops, no? Could it handle all your pre/post routing? Probably too complicated.
