Hi,
I’m using my TimeFactor in a loop with the Boss ES-8 and I would like to know what is the right settings for the TF input/output level: line or instrument? Thank you!

Can't speak for Boss, but usually in a loop you would set the unit to Line level.
Basically, if it distorts on Guitar level, use Line. If there is white noise on Line level, use Guitar.
The ears have it…

Both input and output set to line level seems to give the same output level as guitar/amp settings. While if I put line level (input) and amp level (output) the volume of the delay (mix pot) set to 50% is not equal to the dry signal

Anyway, these are the Boss ES-8 specs for loops’ input and output, maybe it’s useful to match the correct settings in the TimeFactor:
- Nominal Input Level
- IN 1–2, RTN 1–6, RTN 7L, RTN 7R, RTN 8L, RTN 8R, RTN VOL: -10 dBu
- Maximum Input Level
- IN 1–2, RTN 1–6, RTN 7L, RTN 7R, RTN 8L, RTN 8R, RTN VOL: +18 dBu
- Input Impedance
- IN 1, 2: 1 M ohms (Buffer: On)
- Nominal Output Level
- SEND 1–7, SEND 8L, SEND 8R, SEND VOL, OUT 1/L, OUT 2/R, TUNER: -10 dBu
- Maximum Output Level
- SEND 1–7, SEND 8L, SEND 8R, SEND VOL, OUT 1/L, OUT 2/R, TUNER: +18 dBu
- Output Impedance
- OUT 1/L, OUT 2/R: 1 k ohms (Buffer: On)
TUNER: 1 k ohms
- Recommended Load Impedance
- 10 k ohms or greater
