Couldn't find any of the cards listed in the manual. The smallest capacity I found was 8GB. Anything else was 4GB but the incorrect dimensions.

8G would be pushing it. Suggest 2G or smaller. There are a huge number on eBay.

I was just reading a thread in the Harmonizers section where someone found an RS232 to USB cable. Naturally, H8000 users will have Vsig. Is it still possible to backup presets from the Eclipse without such a program or a memory card?

There are various ways to back up programs. A card is probably best – but you can also do a MIDI dump that could probably be received by a number of computer MIDI utilities- see "Dumping Data Via the MIDI and Serial Ports" on UM p.51.
Note that we cannot suggest such a utility or advise how to use it.

What speed should the card be?

the 4GB 30Mb/Sec card I use works fine

The speed does not matter – Eclipse assumes that the card is very slow.
