Hi, I own a H9 and im trying to recreate a few classic shoegaze effects.

Im trying to recreate the bend up whammy effect on this video,

I read somewhere they used a Boss PS-5 on the trem mode set to +2 semitones up

Im sure theres an algorithm out there that can achieve this any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

There are a couple of approaches you can take.  The first would be PitchFlex.

You’ll need something [ aux switch, expression Pedal, or MIDI ] to trigger the pitch bend.  The advantages to using an actual switch for FLEX are the individual GLISS and SHAPE adjustments.  With an expression pedal, you’ll have to attempt that kind of control with your foot.

You can also route a second aux switch to expression [ “Set expression pedal value (aka HotKnob value)” in H9 Control app ].  The 2nd switch will instantly ‘hammer-on’ to the pitch-shifted notes, without any glides or shaping.  When it’s triggered, this 1st preset glides up from whatever you’re playing.

Another way is to trigger the glides with your input levels.  That could be your playing techniques, volume knob, etc.  The HarModulator – under envelope control – can sound a little unnatural when it drops back to unison pitch (the input level drops below the threshold).  It’s best to palm-mute your strings the instant before you need to trigger a bend up.  And keep the MOD SENSitivity high to keep the ENVELOPE SHAPE engaged.

This second preset starts two semitones below your input, and glides up to unison when it’s triggered.
